Slightly bulky
One of the best video-editing laptops right now is Acer’s 17-inch gaming-focused Helios 500. Along with a built-in 2TB hard disk that’s great for storing loads of media files, as well as 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD, it has an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 – a high-performance graphics card that can accelerate plugins and visual effects.

You don't need to be in the film industry to know that the sequel is rarely as good as the original. But quite unlike Jaws, Speed and The Exorcist, the Microsoft Surface Book 2 is a definite improvement on the first generation.
In fact, the Microsoft Surface Book 2 is a mere whisker away from toppling the XPS 15 for best Windows laptop for video editing. But when it comes to 2-in-1 laptop-tablet hybrids, there are none finer. Give the 15-inch screen a tug and it satisfyingly detaches from the keyboard, enabling you to use it as a huge tablet. Handy if you have a work in progress that you want to pass around a table. But, coming with the Surface Pen stylus, it also means you can get more control using the touchscreen for seamless video edits.

Best Imac For Video Editing
If the words of praise keep getting drowned out by volume of the price tag, then the original Surface Book is still available and would still make a more than competent companion to any video editor. You have to settle for a 13.5-inch screen, but the savings can reach as much as a grand.

The newest MacBook Air now has a high-resolution display, faster eight generation dual-core processor and more memory, all of which make a big difference to its video editing credentials. Unfortunately, it’s no longer the affordable option it once was, but it could still be called Apple’s most portable video editing laptop.

Nice big screen
Well.the price
It isn't easy to find a decently specced laptop with a large screen and still get change from £500/$500. But that trusty stalwart HP has somehow managed to produce a cheap laptop that isn't a disaster zone: the HP Pavilion 15. This isn't one for the pros, but if you're a beginner or keen amateur learning the ropes of video editing, the Pavilion is a good choice. Even the entry-level models have loads of storage for rolls of footage, and a little extra cash can get you more RAM, a better Intel processor or a full HD display.
09. Lenovo Yoga 720
Best Windows laptop for video editing around £1,000/$1,000
CPU: Intel Core i5-i7 | Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 | RAM: 8GB – 16GB | Screen: 15.6-inch FHD (1920x1080) – UHD (3840x2160) | Storage: 256GB-512GB SSD
2-in-1 versatility
Solid build
The Lenovo Yoga 720 https://providerpowerful433.weebly.com/best-streaming-webcam-for-mac.html. hits a real sweet spot between price tag and capabilities. It may not quite have the power or street smarts of the premium machines from Apple, Microsoft or Dell, but there's much to like – including the smaller impact it will have on your bank balance.
It manages to offer a full HD 15-inch display for somewhere close to a grand, if not under. And with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card as standard, you'll have the ability to experiment with effects not alien to those more powerful machines. It lacks none of the elite finish either, with the aluminium casing and backlit keyboard common to more expensive laptops.
We do rather rue the lack of an HDMI out port. If you like to instantly transmit your work in progress to a bigger screen then you'll need to find another way of going about it. But as far as compromises go, it feels like a small one. You still get an accurate touchscreen for fingertip control of your footage and sufficient processing power for frustration-free use.

Video editing is hard work. You can spend hours shooting all of your footage, only to get home and find you can’t edit it. Video editing stresses even the most powerful of computers, so what do you do when you need to edit on the move?
Here are four of the best laptops for video editing, using both Adobe Premiere Pro and Apple Final Cut. From budget to premium options, you’ll be able to get your movie edited on the go with these machines.
Video Editing Hardware Requirements
Before making any purchase, it’s important to figure out what your requirements are. If you’re editing basic home videos, then you can get away with lower specs than if you’re editing 4K video.
As a general rule, you want the best CPU and as much RAM as you can afford. A good graphics processing unit (GPU) can help, but may not always be necessary if your budget will not stretch to it. An SSD will help with editing files, but a “traditional” mechanical HDD will provide more storage space at a lower price.
Powerful hardware will come at a cost, however. Not only are good editing machines expensive, but they may often be big and bulky. It’s not possible to purchase an ultra-thin, light, and powerful laptop on a tiny budget.
1. Apple Final Cut Pro Budget: 13-Inch MacBook Pro

As Apple’s Final Cut Pro only works on Apple computers, you have limited choices, especially when shopping on a budget.
The MacBook and MacBook Air are Apple’s budget models, but you’ll have a hard time editing video on them. The tiny screens and low-powered processors will make things very difficult for you.
The 13-inch, 2017 MacBook Pro (without Touch Bar) strikes the perfect balance between cost and performance. You pay a hefty “Apple tax”, but for this, you get a beautiful machine, which is well designed, with an operating system optimized for Final Cut Pro.
The base model comes with a 2.3GHz dual-core Intel i5 processor, 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM, and a 128GB SSD. If you can afford it, upgrading to the i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a larger SSD will yield noticeable performance increases, but with a significant increase in price.
As video editing is extremely demanding on your processor, don’t expect this machine to handle everything you throw at it. It will be fine for basic edits, but if you start working with complex effects or 4K video, then you may want to purchase a faster machine.
2. Apple Final Cut Pro Premium: 15-Inch Macbook Pro
Apple MacBook Pro (15-inch Retina, Touch Bar, 2.6GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) - Space Gray (Previous Model)Apple MacBook Pro (15-inch Retina, Touch Bar, 2.6GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) - Space Gray (Previous Model) Buy Now On Amazon $2,679.00
For a premium Apple laptop, able to handle nearly anything you can throw at it (within reason), the 15-inch 2018 MacBook Pro (with Touch Bar) is a brilliant machine.
This model comes with a 2.6GHz 6-core Intel i7 processor, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, a Radeon Pro 560X GPU, and a 512GB SSD. If you can afford it, upgrading to the Intel i9 processor and 32GB of RAM will significantly boost the performance.
If that’s still not enough power, then you can purchase an External GPU to boost power at home. These are the best external GPUs for a MacBook Pro, and don’t forget to read up on everything you need to know about external GPUs.
3. Adobe Premiere Pro Budget: Lenovo Yoga 720

By editing with Adobe Premiere Pro, it’s possible to ditch Apple altogether and buy a Windows computer at a fraction of the cost (sorry Linux users, the Adobe Creative Cloud won’t work for you).
Adobe is bad at optimizing its software for Windows, and Final Cut Pro is very well optimized, so to achieve similar performance levels to the Apple computers above, you’ll need faster hardware. The good news is that prices are cheaper for Windows machines.
For a budget choice, the Lenovo Yoga 720 is an excellent choice. You get an Intel dual-core i5 processor, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, a 256GB SSD, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 GPU.
Remember this is a budget machine. The GPU and SSD will help with some editing tasks, but the i5 processor and 8GB of RAM could be limiting you.
If you can afford it, the 15-inch 730 upgrades to a 4-core Intel i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, and a 4K Ultra HD screen.
If you’re still struggling with performance issues, then have you considered offline video editing? it’s a great way to edit larger files on low-powered machines.
